"The appeal is taking something ragged and
turning it, strip by
strip, into a beautiful
glassy surface...it's also a countdown to the game beginning again."

-- Martin Zellar,
"Zamboni" song writer

On "Zamboni" the song: "I sort of buried the song with the band. I won't perform it again. It's a perfectly fine song but it got too big...it took on a life of its own." Leave that to the Zambonis, who recorded this version.

Lyrics to "Zamboni" by Martin Zellar:
Well I went down to the local arena
Asked to see the manager man
He came from his office said "Son can I help you"
I looked at him and said "yes you can"

'Cause I wanna drive the zamboni (x2)
Yes I do

Well ever since I was young it's been my dream
That I might drive a zamboni machine
I'd get that ice just as slick as could be
And all the kids would look up to me

'Cause I wanna drive the zamboni (x2)
Yes I do

Now the manager said "son I know it looks keen
But that right there is one expensive machine
Now I got Smokey who's been drivin' for years"
About that time I broke down in tears

'Cause I wanna drive the zamboni (x4)
Yes I do
