"Everyone loves
the thing."

-- Al Roker,
NBC weatherman,
doing a remote
for the opening
of the Rockefeller
Ice Center.

Weatherman Al Roker has driven four times, on the Olympia and the Zamboni: "I was aware that I was on an ice cleaning mechanism, not a car. At any given time I thought to myself, I could kill myself or a diner."

The Zamboni makes for great cocktail party conversation. It's an ice breaker (pun intended). I met a boy this way; he refers to me as the girl who drives the Zamboni. People don't believe him; they say, "I didn't know that girls could drive." It's interesting how little I am in relation to the big machine. I look at the pictures of me driving and I realize I'm smaller than I think I appear. The Zamboni has awakened my latent interest in operating other types of heavy machinery. Shall I mow the lawn at Yankee Stadium? I might buy a used Zamboni through Charles R. Muller & Sons, Inc.
